Time sure flies.. It's been 6 weeks and one day since i last updated my blog. All i can say is i was too busy all these while. In fact now i am. I still have 2 weeks of anatomy which i haven't read, clinical examination which i haven't practice and my EPI assignment is due soon...on the 19th of September. So many things..so little time... Just thought i whine in this post to let out my tension :P
Many many things and incidences happened in this period of 6 weeks; happy and emo moments. Time goes and people change. That's what, i Huiruan notice in med school. To me, this is the year so far (after livng in planet earth for 19years) that many things happen upon me and my surrounding peers. Sometimes 'thingsss' get so complicated and disruptive, and i just wish it never ever happen to me. It makes me reflect and i could not concentrate on my currrent work. Maybe it's part and parcel of life...Or might it be that this is the transitional period of time for me to grow up.
I used to confide to my mum all problems that i faced be it with studies, friends, college etc etc. However, i noticed myself not telling that much anymore to my parents after coming med school. The reason is i do not want them to get worried about me and sometimes i don't feel comfortable talking to them about certain issues fearing they might not understand my condition.
Hmmph...emo-nya this post...

Tired mentally and physically.
I am tired of thinking too much.
Thinking of all the unnecessaries and nonsense.
This is just too distracting.
I am tired because i don't get enough sleep.

What MBBS Stands For
Out of boredom, i went to google the acronym of MBBS. Well, that's my favourite past time, to google for whatever stuffs that came across my mind.
Definition of MBBS
1. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
2. Managed Broad Band Service
3. Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary (Fresno, California)
4. Mian Biwi Bachon Samait
5. Mitochondrial Benzodiazepine Binding Site
6. Mouth Big Brain Small
7. Moderated Bulletin Board Service
Look at number 6. I did not know such thing could appear in google. LOL

Kuantan-Perhentian-Kuantan Trip
I think i finally got to know how to upload pictures in orders where you could put your post on top and words below. The trick is to upload your pictures first before you type your post. Is that right? Is there any other way? Do tell me if you have cause i am not really good at blogging.
Well, this trip started right after we had our 3 hours 10 minutes (inclusive of reading time) Med 1011 paper. We (Stella,Michele, Joane, me) headed straight to Kuantan at 6.30pm. It was Stella's dad who fetched us there by the way.
The next day, Cheryl, Wai Beng, Niyi and Samantha arrived in Kuantan by bus. What we did in Kuantan was eat, sleep, play choi tai tee and asshole, shop for Kuantan stuffs (salted fish n 'keropok' or fish crackers) and watch lots of movies including 'Made of Honour'. Since Stella's parents went on a holiday, we were left to venture on our own with Stella navigating us the way in Kuantan. She was showing off that her Kuantan is not that 'ulu'. Indeed it wasn't and i never said Kuantan is 'ulu' since Muar is 'uluer'. And Cheryl was the one driving us around Kuantan town with a Toyota Harrier (it's a very big car mind you, i salute her driving skills). Thank you so much Cheryl for driving us around.
On Monday night, the remainder of us (Evone, Jarret, Sek Yao, Ivan and Patrik) going for the Perhentian trip arrived in Kuantan as well. We boarded a bus to Jerteh at 1am on the next day (Tuesday). The journey is long and cold (that is because the air conditioning was too cold), it was hard for me to sleep.
Guess what mode of transport did we use to get to Perhentian? Ferry? Speedboat? Sampan?
It's speedboat. The cabby man who drove us to the jetty told us we're going to take a 35minute speedboat ride to the island. At first i thought it might be a mistake. We have so many people here, 14 altogether, how could we fit in a speedboat with the luggages as well. It is quite a long journey there and would it be safe? All these ran into my thoughts while we were on our way towards the jetty.
But to my dismay, we were indeed taking a speedboat. I guess my thinking is too shallow as i always thought speedboats are for water sports or short distance travelling (say 10 to 15 minutes?) The waters was rough and the speedboat kept 'jumping' (i'm not sure what suitable word i could use to describe it but my heart jumped a lot because of it!) A few of us were terrified including me but i guess i was the most terrified one. Well, i have a 'thing' with 'speedboat + rough waters'. I was clinging tight on my dad's waist the last time i went on a water scooter. Super scary.....
Back to our trip. We went snorkelling in the afternoon and yes, by speedboat again. What do you think? The coral reefs and fish were abundant and beautiful. Too bad we were not warned to not step on the corals and a few of us accidentally brushed our feet on it, ended getting lots of cuts. In fact, the local tour guides were standing on the corals themselves. We saw turtles too, since we're quite near to Rantau Abang.
Night came and we had a special 'visitor'. A larger than usual lizard cum chameleon came into our room. But i guess it is nothing unusual as our cabin is very near to nature. Nevertheless, it is scary and even the guys were afraid of it *sacarstic laugh* It came again the next night. I think the larger than usual lizard cum chameleon was attracted to the porch light because it was heading there.
Hmmmm...The next day we went island hopping, went a tiny island (name forgotten) where there is cool fresh water and it is the place where most fishermen rest and get their fresh water. While passing the ships, we saw a man weeing into the sea. LOLX! Interesting.
Coming day 3.... It was time to pack and go home. The journey back to Kuantan was dreadful. We took almost a day to reach Kuantan. Started journey from Perhentian at 12 and we reach Stella's home at 9.30pm. In between time, we waited quite a long time for the bus to pick us up, but what can i say? This is Malaysian timing mar.
The next day, Friday, was time to bid farewell. We head on to KL. Somehow, the heart to heart talks at night make us got to know each other better. Overall, we really had fun during this trip.

Disgusted with Foreigners Taking Dog Meat
With regards to a few articles in The Star, I am truly despised with those foreign workers in our country who take dog meat because they cannot afford the rising cost of food. It is such an inhumane act to do so!
Killing those adorable four-legged dogs for their meat. This is how they brutally kill a dog. Once they spot a 'yummy' looking doggie (regardless of stray or owned) they'll get a stick and hit it till it is dead! Moreover, they have a tendency to aim for pups. I am sad to say that these people are sick in the mind. As a pet owner myself, i love the company of my two dogs. They are the ever loyal watchful dogs and fun to be with. I could never imagine them being on my dinner plate. That is just too barbaric. Hellooo...is this still a third world country???
As there are quite a number of foreign workers living in my housing estate, i am fearful that my dogs might end up on their dinner plate too. My mum has told me several times to be careful when taking my doggies for a walk, and now i tink it is time to heed her advice. I always thought she was just kidding.
I really hope the town councils will put a ban on eating dog meat. Besides it being a barbaric act, one may get zoonotic diseases from eating stray dogs (due undercooked meat perhaps?). Lolx! This is what i learnt from med school. Then pandemic will arise introducing new diseases making the other human race suffer as well.
Urgghhh! Please stop your uncivilized actions. Cannot afford decent meat? Work harder and plan your financials wisely. Or you might better off be at hyour own ome.

Back from Kuantan and Perhentian

Exam's Over
Exam's over and i thought i had posted one right after it ended but apparently it did not appear here. Never mind then. I'm here in Stella's house half-listening to a mini chit chat and half blogging. We're going to Perhentian later at 1 am. So i am now just waiting for the time to come. Got to leave now, cause Wai Beng is rushing me now.
